Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Business Development Representative to join our Capital Placement team. This role is focused on originating new business opportunities and expanding our client base. You will be responsible for identifying and engaging with potential clients, understanding their financial needs, and presenting our firm’s Capital Advisory solutions to meet those needs. You will leverage your existing network and build new relationships with key decision-makers in target organizations. Your primary objective will be to drive revenue growth by sourcing and closing new business deals.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a high degree of initiative and the ability to work independently. You’ll need to manage and prioritize your time effectively as well as maintain accurate records of your activities within our CRM. This position offers a unique opportunity to directly contribute to our firm’s growth with high performers able to elevate quickly. This role is ideal for someone looking for flexibility, autonomy, and the potential for significant earnings in a part-time capacity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Generation: Based on the provided Customer Profile, identify and engage potential clients in need of capital placement services through various channels, including networking, cold outreach, social media, and industry events.
  • Client Engagement: Establish, maintain, and nurture relationships with key decision-makers at prospective client organizations.
  • Sales Pitch: Develop and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to prospective clients, highlighting our firm’s value proposition and services.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape to identify new aligned business opportunities.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the internal team to ensure seamless delivery of quality services to clients.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities and client interactions in the CRM system, and provide regular updates to company leadership.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years in a business development, sales, or related role. Ideally within the financial services or technology industry.
  • Strong networking, negotiation, and communication skills. Ability to build rapport with clients and understand their needs.
  • Highly Organized 
  • Possess Sound Judgement, Discernment & Critical Thinking Skills
  • Knowledge and knack for processing information specifically relating to an understanding of private financial markets and capital placement services across debt, credit, and equity.
  • Highly driven with the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and achieve goals, with only high-level directional guidance.
  • Comfortable working in a fully remote, commission-based role with flexible hours. We’re Central, so any live meetings will happen in CST. Other than that, we don’t care how or when you work, just that objectives and deadlines are met.

Compensation: This is a performance-based contractor role with significant earning potential and uncapped commissions for infinite upside. Once 3-5 deals have been closed, this role flexes to retainer + commission. There will also be milestone-driven bonuses awarded quarterly. High performers will see an accelerated opportunity for advancement into Full-Time roles.
